Backup your Windows PC and protect your valuable data using Acronis True Image Home Version 11 and our easy to follow tutorials. Tutorial 2 – Configuring a backup location

Configuring a backup location or backup zone is a good first step to take with Acronis True Image. Rather than having backups strewn all over your computer, you configure the software to store all your backups in one or more centrally managed locations. With a backup location it is also much easier to manage the size and number of backups that are to be stored.

Additional Notes

Be careful where you choose to store your backups. Storing them on the same hard drive as the data you are planning to back up is never a good idea. Even using a different partition on the same hard drive is strongly not recommended, since in the event of a total hard drive failure, you are likely to lose information on both partitions.

You can configure more than one backup location. If you have two hard drives in your system you can configure a location on each one, so that important files from one drive can be backed up onto the other drive and vice versa.
