Our Stardock DeskScapes Tutorial shows you how you can get stunning looking animated wallpaper on Windows XP

Stardock DeskScapes brings animated wallpapers or desktop backgrounds to Windows XP desktops, providing your Windows XP machine meets the minimum system requirements. Please note however that the Windows XP version of Stardock DeskScapes is incompatible with Stardock Fences.

In this video we'll show you how to apply or change your animated desktop background and also how to download new animated backgrounds, or dreams, from Stardock Software's Dream Gallery. To install DeskScapes, please use Stardock Impulse. You can obtain Stardock Impulse and also view our Impulse tutorials by clicking here.

Not using Windows XP? DeskScapes works with Windows Vista too and not just Vista Ultimate. Click here for our Windows Vista DeskScapes tutorial. Windows 7 users will have to wait until the release of DeskScapes 3.

Please wait a few moments while the video loads. When loading is complete, press the play button on the video control panel below the video to start playback.

Additional notes

New Dream format animated wallpapers you download should be copied to 'C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\My Documents\Stardock\Dreams'. You may need to substitute C: for whichever drive Windows is installed to on your machine (though almost all Windows systems are installed to the C: drive).

Problems with your animated desktop backgrounds? DeskScapes is a cutting edge Windows enhancement. Please make sure your system is up to date. You should especially make sure that your graphics card drivers are the most recent version. For more information on updating your computer, click here.
