Our Stardock DeskScapes 3 tutorial shows you how you can get stunning looking animated wallpaper on Windows XP/Vista and 7

Stardock DeskScapes 3 brings animated wallpapers or desktop backgrounds to Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 users. With an improved user interface (that works the same way on all supported versions of Windows) and an assortment of new fully and partially animated desktop backgrounds, Deskscapes 3 will make your PC desktop look truly stunning.

Deskscapes can be installed using Impulse, Stardock's own digital distribution service. See our Impulse Tutorials if you need help using Impulse to install DeskScapes or any other program. Before purchasing or installing the software, be sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users must have a machine that can run the Windows Aero desktop. For full details of the system requirements, click here.

In this video we'll show you how to apply or change your animated desktop background and also how to download new animated backgrounds, or dreams, from Stardock Software's Dream Gallery.

Please wait a few moments while the video loads. When loading is complete, press the play button on the video control panel below the video to start playback.

Additional notes

New Dream format animated wallpapers you download should be copied to 'C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\Stardock\Dreams' on Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines or 'C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\My Documents\Stardock\Dreams ' on Windows XP machines. You may need to substitute C: for whichever drive Windows is installed to on your machine (though almost all Windows systems are installed to the C: drive).

Problems with your animated desktop backgrounds? DeskScapes is a cutting edge Windows enhancement. Please make sure your system is up-to-date. You should especially make sure that your graphics card drivers are the most recent version. For more information on updating your computer, click here.
