Work with compressed, archived and zipped files with 7-Zip, a free zip compatible archiver! - Tutorial 3 - Making your own zip files


In the third of our free zip tutorials we look at how you can create your own zip files. This process can seem a little tricky at first, but you might be pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily you can do it after watching this tutorial and putting in a bit of practise.

Additional notes

Although we zipped up some picture files in this example, it is worth noting that zip files can be used to store any type of files, or even a mixture of files. Keep in mind though, that if you zip up too many files you may create a very large zip file and many e-mail systems will reject messages with very large attachments on them.
