Get free spyware removal with Spyware Doctor Starter Edition! - Tutorial 1 - Installing Spyware Doctor

Spyware Doctor Starter Edition is available free as part of the Google Pack. This is a selection of free software hand-picked by Google to improve your on-line experience. In order to install the software, it is first necessary to install the Google updater. To do this, first visit the Google Pack website.

Once you have accesssed this webpage, you should see a box like the one below:-

Make sure that you tick the box next to "Spyware Doctor". Feel free to choose any other software that takes your fancy too. Once you have done this, click on "Download Google Pack". You should be taken to a page which looks like the one shown below:-

Click on "Agree and Download". Now, depending on whether you are using Internet Explorer or Firefox, the next couple of steps are a little different. If you use a browser other than IE or Firefox, refer to your browsers documentation if you need help downloading the Google Pack.

Firefox users only

You should see the following window appear:-

On the window above, click on "Save". You should then see the window shown below:-

Once downloading is complete, click on "Open" as circled in red in the picture above. You should then see the window shown below:-

Click on "OK". Windows Vista users may now need to grant permission for Google Updater to start. This completes the Firefox specific part of the tutorial.

Internet Explorer users only

You should see the following window:-

Click on "Run". Internet Explorer will then show you the following warning window:-

Click on "Run". This completes the Internet Explorer specific part of the tutorial.

All users

If you have a software firewall, or are running Windows Vista with User Account Control enabled, please grant permission for "GoogleUpdater" to access the Internet/your computer if prompted. You should now see the following window:-

Google updater will download and install all the software you selected automatically. When it is finished, you should see the following window pop up in the bottom right of your screen:-

Here, you're asked if you want to enable real-time protection. Doing this gives the highest level of security, but all real time malware protection has some impact on system performance. The real time protection in Spyware Doctor is pretty efficient however, so we recommend you enable it, unless you already have another real-time spyware monitor installed. You can always disable it later.

The software will now be fully installed and ready for use.
