Securely backup your disks with Acronis True Image 2011 - Tutorial 3 - Restoring files or disks from a backupPlease note, This tutorial is for Acronis True Image 2011. If you are using the latest version of the software, True Image 2012, click here. Acronis True Image is a very flexible backup program. When you take a full disk backup with the program you can restore your computer in the event of a complete system failure, or you can recover individual files and folders. In this video we'll show you both techniques. To start the video presentation, please click on the picture below.
Additional notes It is also possible to 'mount' a backup file and access it as if it were a physical drive attached to your computer. This can be useful if you want to search through the contents of a backup image. To mount an image, select the Tools & Utilities option from the home screen and then choose "Mount image". It is possible to search through backups using Windows Search or Google Desktop too, this can be enabled by clicking on the down arrow to the right of the search box in the upper right corner of the main Acronis True Image program window. Then, choose "Search options" in the drop-down menu that appears. Note however that encrypted/password protected backups can only be searched by first mounting them using the mount image option.
