Learn how to configure your BIOS settings to allow for booting from CD and DVD ROM discs with this video tutorial

In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to reconfigure your BIOS settings (Basic Input/Output System) so that you can boot from a CD or DVD-ROM disc. Several backup and system restore utilities provide the facility to create a rescue CD that you can use in the event of hard drive or operating system failure. If you need to use one of these discs, or any kind of bootable CD, you'll need to make sure that your computer can boot from CD-ROM disc.

Please exercise caution when following this tutorial!

Changing settings in your computers BIOS which you do not fully understand can cause serious problems with your computer. Please be careful to only change the boot priority settings as shown in the video. If you are in doubt, it may be best to consult a trained PC technician.

Additional notes

BIOS configuration screens vary:- Unfortunately there are dozens of different types of BIOS configuration screen. Configuring the boot priorities for your drives will be similar in most BIOS setup screens, but please be careful not to accidentally change any other settings unless you are completely sure of what you are doing.
