Need to change drive letters on your Windows XP PC? Removable drives causing headaches with constantly changing letters? Find out how to reassign a drive letter with our handy guideIn this short video tutorial, we show you how you can change or reassign drive letters in Windows XP. It is occasionally necessary to do this if you work with removable drives because any automatic backup you create will expect the drive to be on the same drive letter assignment as last time. Windows Vista users - If you surfed onto this page looking for a tutorial on how to change drive letters on your machines, click here. Additional notes Remember that if you have installed any programs to your drive and the drive letter changes (either by your doing or by Windows) then programs installed on that drive will probably not work correctly until the drive letter is changed back.
If another drive has taken the drive letter you need, you must first reassign that drive to a new letter, before you can assign
the letter to another drive.
