Problems running an old game or application on Windows Vista? Try the compatibility mode. This tutorial will show you how, step by step

Windows Vista will work with most software that was designed for Windows XP and even some software that was written for Windows 98 or earlier versions of Windows. However, sometimes older software may be difficult to install or run on Windows Vista. If you are having difficulty trying to run old games or software on your new Vista PC, the first thing to try is changing the compatibility mode options. This video will show you how to do that.

Please wait a few moments while the video loads. When loading is complete, press the play button on the video control panel below the video to start playback.

Additional notes

Unfortunately the compatibility mode options will not solve all the backward compatibility problems that you may encounter. We are planning another article which explores the issue in more depth, this will be available soon.
