Now that AVG is installed, we will show you how to manually scan for computer viruses on your system. If for any reason you want to run a virus scan immediately, follow this tutorial.

Additional notes

AVG now includes a spyware scanner too. You may find that the software detects "Tracking Cookies". Most spyware scanners will remove these as they can be used to track your surfing habits, but they pose no risk to your system.

If you installed the AVG desktop gadget, you can start scanning your computer simply by clicking on the scan button on the gadget.
