Update all of your Windows drivers with Uniblue DriverScanner - Tutorial 1 - Installing DriverScanner

If you want to update your PC's drivers and keep your system running at peak performance, you have two choices. You can trawl the internet for hours on end looking for the latest drivers for all your hardware, or you can simply let the clever Uniblue DriverScanner do it for you. You can download and try this excellent utility for free, you might be surprised at how many drivers are out of date on your computer.

Installing Uniblue DriverScanner is easy. Firstly, visit the DriverScanner Homepage and download the latest version. Save the file to your desktop or somewhere where you can access it easily. When the download has completed, double click on the file or choose "Open" in your browsers download manager. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users will need to enter their administrator password and/or click on "Continue" if Windows User Account control prompts them to do so.

The following window will then be displayed:-

Select the language you want to use for installation (English is selected by default) and then click "OK". The following window will then appear:-

Click on "Next >". The following window will then appear:-

Scroll down to read the licence agreement and if you agree, make sure to select the option labelled "I accept the agreement" then click "Next >". The following window will then be displayed:-

Choose a location on your computer to install the software to. The default location is correct for most users, so simply click on "Next >". The following window will then be displayed:-

Choose a location on your start menu to install the programs shortcuts. Again, the default location is correct for most users, so simply click on "Next >". The following window will then be displayed:-

Here you can optionally create desktop and quick launch icons for the software. If you want these additional icons, make sure the boxes are ticked or checked. When you have made your decision, click "Next >" to move on to the window shown below:-

The installer now gives you a summary of all the options you configured on the previous windows. If you are happy with your choices, click on "Install". The following window will then appear:-

Please wait while the software is installed. When the process is complete, the following window will appear:-

The installation process is now complete. Click on "Finish". DriverScanner will now start automatically. You can now proceed directly to our next tutorial.
