Master the basics of working with your PC - Tutorial 6 - Files, folders and understanding file pathsBeing able to easily navigate around your computer is one of the most important skills you need to master if you want to get more out of your PC. As you produce and edit files, photographs and other kinds of media, you'll benefit from understanding how your computer stores this data to disc and how to retrieve it. After watching this video, you should have a much better idea of how to work with files and folders on your PC. Please wait a few moments while the video loads. When loading is complete, press the play button on the video control panel below the video to start playback.
Additional notes Some files and folders are protected by the operating system. When you open a folder like this, Windows will warn you that this is a special folder and that changing its contents might affect your computer. Be extra careful not to alter any files in your Windows folder, for example. To learn more about files and folders, XP users should view this tutorial. Vista users should view this tutorial. Both XP and Vista users can also benefit from our section on working with files.
