Backup your Windows PC and protect your valuable data using Genie Backup Manager. Tutorial 1 - Installation

solution available for Windows machines. In our first tutorial we will
show you how to install this cutting edge backup software on your
Windows XP or Vista PC. Before you can install the software, you need to obtain the latest version. Visit the Genie Backup Home download page or the Genie Backup Pro download page to obtain the latest version of the software. Choose either the Pro or Home version, depending on your needs. If you're not sure which version you require, visit the Genie Homepage for more information. Once you have downloaded the file, double click on it to start the installation, Windows Vista users should enter their administrator password and/or click continue if User Account Control prompts them to do so. The following window will then be displayed:-
Click on "Next >". The following window will then be displayed:-
Scroll down to read the end user license agreement. If you agree, be sure to click on the button labelled "I accept the agreement", then click on "Next >" to move to the window shown below:-
Here you can choose where to install the files on your computer. The default location is correct for most users, so simply click on "Next >" to move to the window shown below:-
Now you can choose where on the Start menu you would like your short-cuts to be created. Again, the default location is fine for most users, so simply click on "Next >" to move to the window shown below:-
On this window, you can choose to create a Quick Launch icon if desired. You can also choose who can run the program. If you choose "Current User" then Genie Backup Manager will only be available from this user account. If you choose "All Users" then anyone with a user account on this PC will be able to run the software. When you have decided on these options, click "Next >" to move to the window shown below:-
This window will allow you to review all your settings. If you are happy with your choices, click on "Install" to start the installation process.
There will be a short pause while the files are copied. When the copy process is complete, the following window will be shown:-
The installation process is now complete. Click on "Finish" and Genie Backup Manager will now load:-
If you have already purchased a license, you should now click on "Enter Serial Number" and enter the details that were sent to you by e-mail. If you are simply trying out the software, click on "Evaluate". The program will then start.
