Learn how to Zip files easily in Windows XP, Vista and 7 using Windows Explorer and our handy tutorialWindows XP, Vista and Windows 7 have the facility to create a basic Zip file using Windows Explorer though, for more advanced options and better compression, you may wish to use 7-Zip instead. To create a Zip file in Windows, firstly open up a Windows Explorer window and browse to where your files are stored. Now, select the files you want to include in the archive:-
Next, right click and navigate to the "Send To" options. From the sub-options, choose "Compressed (Zipped) Folder".
Wait a moment while Windows compresses the files. When the task is completed, type a name for the zipped folder or simply press enter to accept the default name.
You're finished, the files are now stored inside the zip archive.
