Quickly find and launch software on your PC with Launchy, a fantastic free desktop enhancement - Tutorial 1 - Installing Launchy

Launchy is a popular desktop enhancement, especially amongst Windows XP users. Launchy makes it quick and easy to find and run software from your Start menu. It does this by providing you with a pop up window that enables you to search the contents of the Start menu quickly and easily. This is very similar to the search function on the Vista and Windows 7 Start menus.

Installing Launchy is really easy, This tutorial will walk you through the process. The first step is to obtain the latest version of the software. Visit this page at sourceforge to obtain the latest version. Download the file to your desktop or somewhere where you can easily access it. When the download is complete, double click on the icon or select open from your browsers download manager to start the installation process. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users may have to grant permission for the installation to proceed if prompted to do so by Windows User Account Control.

The following window will then appear:-
