Optimize Windows start-up times using StartupDelayer - Tutorial 2 - Using StartupDelayer

In this video, we'll show you how to use StartupDelayer to more evenly distribute the startup times of your widgets, gadgets and other software that runs when Windows first starts up. Experimentation is the key to getting the most out of this software. No two Windows PC's are exactly alike and the startup times we use in the video are simply for example purposes.

Additional notes

When you add a delay to a program in StartupDelayer, StartupDelayer removes the program from the normal Windows Start-up list and adds it to its own. Some programs will then detect that they have been disabled from running at start-up and try to re-enable themselves. When this happens, the program will start immediately rather than after the delay you set. Sometimes StartupDelayer will detect that this has happened and warn you. To remedy the problem, open your applications configuration window and make sure it is configured not to load at start-up.

Windows Vista and Windows 7 users:- If you are running a standard user account, you will need to temporarily make your account into an administrator account in order to configure StartupDelayer. When StartupDelayer runs, it requires administrator access. Using User Account Control to grant the permissions will not work correctly, as you will then be editing start-up times for the administrators account. You can change your account back to a standard account when you have finished configuring StartupDelayer.
