Troubleshoot Windows Explorer crashes and other Windows problems with ShellExView - Tutorial 2 - Using ShellExViewShellExView is a powerful tool that can enable and disable shell extensions on your Windows PC. Shell extensions allow third party software to add functionality to your Windows PC. For example, antivirus software often adds items to the right click context menu to allow for easy scanning of selected files. This is done through a shell extension. If right clicking causes Windows Explorer to crash, or if your PC is exhibiting other strange behaviour, a faulty shell extension might be the cause.
Please exercise caution when following this tutorial!Although these changes can easily be undone, please be careful not to disable any Microsoft shell extensions. We also recommend creating a system restore point before proceeding. Please wait a few moments while the video loads. When loading is complete, press the play button on the video control panel below the video to start playback.
Additional notes Windows Vista/Windows 7 users - If you get an "Access is denied" error when trying to disable shell extensions, exit ShellExView then start it again by right clicking on its icon and choosing "Run as Administrator".
