Chat with friends and family for free with Skype. Tutorial 4 - Finding and adding Skype contacts


In this tutorial, we demonstrate how to add contacts to your contact list in Skype, and also how you can communicate with them and manage your contact list. Once you have completed this tutorial, you're fully equipped to use the software to keep in touch with friends and family around the world.

Additional Notes

Although Skype was designed as a internet telephone, as you can see from the video, it also functions quite well as a regular instant messaging program. Certain web cams are supported too, should you want to video chat.

As you get more confident using the program, you may find it quicker to add contacts using the Contacts menu. Choose "New Contact..." to add a contact whose Skype name you already know, or "Search for Skype Users..." to check if your friends have Skype accounts.
