Backup your PC using the new and improved Windows 7 backup utility. Tutorial 3 - Restoring a system image

In this video, we'll show you one of the super powerful features of the new Windows 7 Backup Utility. If you ever experienced a hard drive failure, or had your system corrupted by a particularly nasty virus, then you'll appreciate how useful a system image can be. A system image is a complete 'snap shot' of your computers hard drive. Everything from programs to system settings to documents and pictures is saved. The Windows 7 Backup Utility creates a system image backup by default and in this tutorial we'll show you how to use it.

If you have been backing up to an external storage device, don't forget to attach it before attempting this procedure.

Additional notes

Remember that restoring a system image overwrites everything on your hard drive. Any files or folders that you created or changed since taking the system image must be backed up or they will be lost forever.
