Additional notes Remember the rules for dragging and dropping - When you drag and drop files between Windows Explorer windows, remember this basic rule. If you are dragging files or folders to another folder on the same drive, the files are moved, if you are dragging files or folders to a different drive or storage device, the files are copied.
