Before you can start chatting to your friends and family on Windows Live Messenger 2011, you'll need to add them to your contact list. Luckily, Live Messenger makes it easy to add, remove and organise your contacts. In this video tutorial, we'll guide you through the process of adding a new contact and explore some of the ways you can keep your contact list organised.

Additional notes

Remember that if your privacy settings are set to "Private", you will not receive new friend requests. In this case, to add a friend, both of you must add each other by following the process shown in the video.

Please note that there is no longer a "block list" or block contact option in this version of Windows Live Messenger. Instead, only people who are on your contacts list are permitted to send you instant messages.
