Before you can start chatting to your friends and family on Windows Live Messenger, you'll need to add them to your contact list. Luckily, Live Messenger makes it easy to add, remove and organise your contacts. In this video tutorial, we'll guide you through the process of adding a new contact and explore some of the ways you can keep your contact list organised.

Additional Notes

What happens if someone tries to add me to their contact list? In the video, we demonstrated how to add someone to your contact list, but what if things happen the other way around? Before you can communicate with someone, you'll need to authorise their request. You'll see a window like the one shown below:-

Someone added you

Here you can choose to accept or deny the request to communicate. Be careful if you don't recognise the person who is requesting to chat to you. Automated spam programs sometimes send out random friend requests hoping that you'll accept them and then be subjected to their spam messages!
