In this video tutorial, we show you how to update Ad-Aware 2007 to the latest Windows spyware definitions file. You should do this before running a scan to make sure that the software knows about the latest spyware threats. Please allow for a short delay while the video loads. What is a definition file? You can think of an Ad-aware definition file as being like a fingerprint database of spyware and other malicious or potentially dangerous programs. The more out of date your definitions file is, the more likely it is that Ad-Aware will miss some newer spyware simply because it does not know about it.

Unlike NOD32 and other anti-virus packages, Ad-Aware is not constantly running in the background and so is not able to automatically check for updates.
