Backup your Windows XP PC using the Windows XP Backup Utility. Tutorial 2 - Backing up your documents folder

In this short video, we demonstrate how to use the Windows XP Backup Utility to make a backup copy of all the user folders (my documents folder for each user on the PC). Using the Backup and Restore Wizard this is an easy process and is an ideal way to make periodic backups to an external hard drive, for example.

Please wait a few moments while the video loads. When loading is complete, press the play button on the video control panel below the video to start playback.

Additional notes

The XP Backup Utility supports backing up to tape drives too, though most home users do not have access to such hardware. You can even backup to multiple floppy disks, though we strongly recommend you do not. Floppy disks were never the most robust storage medium, not to mention the fact that you will need a lot of disks (maybe even hundreds or thousands!)

It is possible to schedule backups using the XP Backup Utility too, but we will cover that in the next video.
