Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and perform a Winsock reset in Windows Vista and Windows 7 with this video tutorial

If you cannot connect to the internet, or your own home network on your Windows Vista or Windows 7 machine, then before you call technical support, you should try the steps outlined in this video. These troubleshooting steps are not suitable for solving slow internet connections, see this article for information on troubleshooting slow connections.

Additional notes

For your reference, the command shown in the video was "netsh winsock reset".

Windows Vista users - This video was filmed using Windows 7, however the process is virtually identical on your operating system. The only difference is during the "Network and Sharing Center" step. Windows Vista users should click the link shown circled in red in the picture below:-
