Ad-Aware tutorial 1 – Installation
Outsmart Windows spyware with Ad-Aware and our easy to follow tutorials! Note:- All versions of Ad-Aware now include a real-time antispyware and an antivirus scanner. This means that Ad Aware may conflict with any existing antivirus software you have installed. You should temporarily disable or uninstall your current antivirus solution while you evaluate Ad-Aware. If you wish to use both products in tandem, we show you how to disable Ad-Aware’s real-time protection in tutorial 3.
Ready to use Ad-Aware to remove Windows spyware from your PC? Excellent. If you have already installed the program, click here to jump straight to tutorial two. If not, then first you need to download the latest version from Lavasoft, click here to visit the Ad-Aware download page. Click on the big green “Free Download” button to start the download.
When the download is complete, double click on the file you downloaded, or choose “Open” or “Run” in your browsers download manager to start the installation process.
(Note:- Windows Vista and Windows 7 users only – After clicking the file to begin installation, enter your administrator user name and password and/or click continue if prompted to do so by Windows User Account Control.
The following window will then appear:-
Choose your preferred language by clicking on it. The following window will then appear:-
Scroll down to read the license agreement and if you agree to the terms, tick or check the box that is labelled “I Accept this End-User License Agreement”. Expert users can also opt to change the installation directory, but for most users the default location is fine. When you have configured these options, click on “Next” to move on to the next window:-
Wait a moment while files are copied and configured. When the process is complete, the following window will appear:-
Installation is now complete. You may be required to restart your computer before you can use the software. Click on “Finish”. You can then proceed directly to our next tutorial.
