How to enable (or disable) Internet Explorer in Windows 7

Windows 7 is the first version of Windows that lets users actually remove Internet Explorer altogether. Since our Superguide DVD’s expect Internet Explorer to be present on your system, they will not load correctly if it is disabled. To re-enable Internet Explorer, follow these easy steps.

Firstly, open the Start Menu and search for “Windows Features”, then click on the icon circled in red in the picture below:-

Enable IE step 1

When you click the icon, the following window will appear:-

Enable IE step 2

Make sure the “Internet Explorer 8” option is ticked/checked, then click on “OK”. Wait a moment while Windows reconfigures your system, if you are prompted to restart your PC, then do so. When this process is complete, launch the Superguide DVD/CD again and the problem will be resolved.
