Flexera Software Personal Software Inspector – Tutorial 1 – Installation
Flexera Software Personal Software Inspector (also called Secuina Personal Software Inspector) is a simple security app you can run on any Windows PC. Its purpose is to check the software you have installed on your PC and help you update any apps that have updated versions available. Since older, outdated apps can be a vector of attack for hackers and malware, it makes sense to keep them up to date, just as you do with Windows itself.
Installing the program is easy, simply visit this webpage, enter your e-mail address and then use the free download link. Run the downloaded file from your browsers download manager or from File Explorer. Enter your administrator password and/or click “Yes” when Windows User Account Control prompts you to do so.
The following window will then appear.
Click “Next >”. The following window will then be displayed.
Scroll down to read the license agreement and if you agree to the terms, make sure to select “I accept the terms of the License Agreement”, then click “Next >”. The following window will then appear.
On this window you need to decide how updates will be handled. You can choose the fully automatic option, or you can choose to handle the updates manually. We recommend the middle option for most users, since it allows you to check exactly which app the software is proposing to update before going ahead with the update. Certain software packages include modified versions of other apps and updating these apps may cause the parent app to malfunction, so take care in those instances.
Once you have made your decision, click on “Next”. There will be a short pause while files are copied and configured, then the following window will appear.
Installation is now complete, click on “Finish”. You can now proceed directly to the next tutorial.
