Installing the .NET Framework V2, V3 and V3.5

This quick tutorial will show you how to install the .NET framework on your PC. This is required by many popular Windows programs. The .NET framework is a software framework that programmers can use to develop all kinds of Windows applications. It is included with some versions of Windows, but may require manually downloading on others.

To get started installing the framework, visit this page. Choose your installation language and click on “Download”. The website will then offer you some optional extras from Microsoft, but you can opt out of these if you want to, simply deselect them and click on “No thanks and continue”. The download should then start automatically. When it is complete, choose “Open” or “Run” in your browsers download manager. The following window will then be displayed.

Click on “Download and install this feature”. Enter your administrator password and/or click on “Yes” if Windows User Account Control prompts you to do so. After a short delay the following window will appear.

Click on “Close” now and restart your computer. That’s it, the .NET framework is installed, super easy!
