Frustrated by your screen saver interrupting you while watching our videos?
We want you to enjoy watching our tutorials on Top-Windows-Tutorials.com but on some systems that is just not possible because of the screen saver settings. If you find your screen saver is getting in your way when watching the videos, here is how to disable it.
Note – This tutorial is for Windows XP, for information on how to change or disable screen savers in Windows Vista, click here. Windows 7 users should click here.
Firstly, right click anywhere in an empty space on your desktop. You should see a menu appear like the one below:-

From the menu that appears, select “Properties”. The Display Properties window will now appear.

Click on the “Screen Saver” tab, it is circled in red in the picture above.

In the drop down box labelled “Screen saver”, select “(None)” as shown in the picture above.

If you did the above step correctly, the window should now look like this. Press OK to disable the screen saver. You can now watch our videos without being interrupted! Alternativley, you can increase the time delay before your screen saver is activated by changing the value in the box labelled “wait:”. All our videos are under 10 minutes long, so setting it to a value of 20 or more should be perfect.
If at a later date you wish to re-enable your screen saver, simply follow this tutorial again, choosing one of the screen savers from the list shown in the drop down box.
