Windows Live Messenger comes with full support for headsets/microphones and webcams. In this video, we’ll show you how to configure the audio and video settings in Live Messenger. Once you have done this, you’ll be able to start a voice chat (VOIP) or video chat conversation easily.

Please allow for a short delay while the video loads. When loading is complete, press the play button below the video to start playback.

Current Video Playback problems:- We are aware of a problem where the video playback control bar is not automatically hiding itself and obscuring part of the video. We’re rolling out a new video player across the site that resolves this issue and this video will be upgraded soon.

Additional notes

If your speakers/headphones are correctly configured you should be able to hear a sound when you click “Test”. In the video, you cannot hear the sound because it is played in the narrators headphones!
